Because English and Welsh are very different languages,Ā I explain most of the course in English so that you can understand the main concepts more easily.Ā As you progress, I gradually introduce more and more Welsh, making the transition to the language smooth and natural. No previous knowledge of Welsh is required.
TheĀ Welsh for Beginners CourseĀ is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why we begin with the absolute basics. However,Ā itās also a great fit if youāve had some contact with Welsh in the past but feel you need to go back to the basics and build a solid foundationĀ before moving on to more advanced concepts. The lessons gradually increase in difficulty, so you can build your knowledge and confidence step by step.
IN MY COURSE YOU WILL LEARN:
PRONUNCIATION AND GRAMMAR
You will learn how to pronounce Welsh words correctly, which is an important part of speaking the language. We will also explore the basics of Welsh grammar, including verb forms and sentence structures, so you can start creating simple sentences of your own.
DAILY LIFE EXPRESSIONS
You will learn useful expressions for everyday situations, such as asking questions, saying what you like and dislike, and talking about what you want. These practical phrases will help you start communicating with other people in Welsh.
EXPRESSING TIME AND ACTIONS
You will learn how to talk about things you have done and things you want to do in the future. Youāll also learn how to ask questions and build simple sentences, helping you start having basic conversations in Welsh.
VOCABULARY
As you progress through the course, youāll build your Welsh vocabulary around useful topics such as daily activities, commands and possessive forms. Through practical exercises, youāll also develop your listening skills and start to understand and take part in simple conversations.
